In desperation, they decide to pierce deeper into the building in the hopes that the evacuation center was simply deeper inside.
They fight their way through the run-down streets of Savannah by obtaining equipment at Whitaker's Gun Shop, and strike a deal with Whitaker to quickly access the mall, only to find it abandoned and full of Infected.
While leaving the hotel, they learn about each others' names Ellis, Coach, Rochelle and Nick. With this newfound predicament, the group decide to go to a mall where it is said that another evacuation center is still in operation. As the last rescue helicopter leaves the building, the four unlucky Survivors climb up the hotel to find out that they are just a couple of seconds too late, watching their chances of escape fly away. The story starts around noon in Savannah, Georgia. It involves the aftermath of the Infection one week after the events of the previous game, now being around three weeks after the first Infection. The time invested and devs are peanuts for Valve, and they do have a reason to do so. I do not even play TF, but valve has a record of bringing their IPs very late to new engines and often still rely on outdated features which are pretty much deprecated even using the current engine (or things which were in place since former engines did not support it and they never migrated to the capabilities provided on the new engine), in end they always did it, late, often years later but they did. Most likely just too much to do to get it in time.That's some wishful thinking right there. I am pretty sure about that, but since they flagged it only playable, it's certeinly coming after the release, but they will do it. Do you think Valve will ever go back and properly update TF2? It's no surprise to see Left 4 Dead 2 getting high marks though, since it did just get updated recently. While on one hand it shows that Valve have work to do even for their owns games, on the other it shows they're at least honest about Deck compatibility. For TF2 the issues seem to be a mix of text being too small and it doesn't have the best gamepad support. However, in the case of Team Fortress 2 it's only mentioned that it's Playable. Left 4 Dead 2 appears fully Verified for Steam Deck, so out of the box it should be a great experience overall. Earlier we saw that Half-Life 2 is now verified and we know this once again thanks to SteamDB, who track basically everything Steam. Both Left 4 Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2 popped up recently.
